mitt romney, purely because he spent most of the year debating against very good debaters like newt gingrich and rick santorum and others. they were very capable opponents on a debate stage. barack obama hasn't done this for four years. so i would think the advantage would definitely be with the apparent underdog, a, because people don't think he's going to win and i think he may well win that first debate and secondly, because he's the more experienced debater. >> well, i think i would caution you a little bit. i think the president, when he has given kind of press interviews, that is a form of being pressed on things so maybe you're not debating another opponent one-on-one, but you are going through the process of answering questions and tough questions and people are not letting you squirm out of things. i think you do have to pull that down a little bit. i do believe that mitt romney has not demonstrated that he's agile. he's not kind of light on his feet. so the idea that if you had a tough spot in a debate, whether the moderator pushed or obama pushed and could romney not talking from

newt gingrich and rick santorum, and i certainly don't agree with either of them on anything, on everything, but the way they challenged the basic false premises of these very far from neutral observers was very admirable, something that appeals not just to the base of the republican party and conservatives, but i think especially to those independents. i mean, the first debate will be here in colorado. this is a huge battleground state. particularly when it comes to these women issues, the democrat party has vastly overreached in this whole idea that women simply think with their chromosomes and internal organs. the way that the democrats have presented themselves as champions of women, when of course they have this destructive economic record, and the caricature of the sandra fluke typos, radical pinkos, dancing around in costumes dressed up as reproductive organs. this is not what mainstream females are about. we need to have the romney campaign representing that. >> sean: michelle, good to see you as always. and coming up -- >> i said even at the time, this is going to be a rocky path.

he faced a challenge from newt gingrich, he won. he faced a challenge from rick perry. people would say hey, this is a do-or-die debate. mitt romney must prove he can deliver the knockout blow, and he did do it in the debates time and time again. >> he did look very presidential in that group. we'll see how he does next to president obama which i think is a little bit different. >> yeah. >> that ohio poll is interesting because the cbs one we had last week had it at ten points. now we have another one showing it at nine points. if you start to look at the map, if he doesn't take iowa, if it gets away from him, it becomes difficult to put a puzzle together to win. >> by the way, there has been this narrative that there is the grand conspiracy and that the polls are skewed. this is what walter mondale said in 1984. this is what moveon.org said in 2004, that all the polls were skewed against john kerry and moveon.org said you just wait. and now you're hearing it frantically on the other side, which ironically, again, they are putting fox news in the grand conspiracy. >> wh
